I am an independent consultant based in the UK looking to help businesses and expand my portfolio, utilising my skills and diverse knowledge.
I have worked in the IT and Software sectors for over 20 years. After progressing onto SaaS projects and guiding others in the requirements of ISO 27001 and other standards, including ISO 9001, 13485, 62304, and medical device regulations, I decided to move into freelance work specialising in ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.
To support this, I have taken further qualifications, gaining both Lead Implementer and Lead Auditor in ISO 27001:2022 and rejoining IRCA for ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.
While at Waters Corp, I carried out many (well over 150) audits and participated in several customer and certification audits of the IT and Software engineering functions.
I am now looking for opportunities to use the skills I have acquired over many years to benefit other businesses, especially those starting on their information security journey.
I have been a Lead Auditor in ISO 9001 since 2003 and ISO 27001 since earlier this year. I pride myself on my collaborative audit approach while maintaining my professional independence. In addition, I always work to find pragmatic solutions to problems, having weighed up many alternate routes to ensure whatever is implemented is as simple as possible whilst remaining robust and compliant.
To further support my continued development in a fast-changing landscape, I have completed GDPR training. I am working on the CyberEPQ qualification the Chartered Institute of Information Security and City and Guilds provided. This approach is critical to staying in touch with the latest regulations and threats within the IT world.
This combination of qualifications and experience enables me to partner successfully with clients to build a simple approach to security and compliance.
